Photography Tour Overview:
Valley of Fire is Nevada’s oldest and largest state park covering 42,059 acres.
It derives its name from the many and varied red Aztec sandstone formations, and
photographically speaking you'll enjoy the potpourri of arches, shapes, and
colors, plus petrified wood and petroglyphs etcetera.
We'll also explore the Moapa Valley including the Lost City museum with its'
replica' pueblos and more.

Our
itinerary . . .
But first things first! We suggest that you set your camera's clock to the local time, as your images will then synchronize with the times in our included photo tour
field notes.
Day 1 |
To the Valley of Fire State Park Our group will meet in the lobby
of our gateway hotel near the Las Vegas airport at 11 am, and then follow interstate 15 until we
reach the turn-off for our accommodations. We'll enjoy the included lunch
together, and
following a short break we'll head to the Valley of Fire State Park to shoot
until the sun sets. The light will be at its warmest, and the shadows cast will
enhance everything you photograph. After the sun has set we'll take dinner near
our accommodations. Moapa Valley, 2 nights
Day 2 |
Valley of Fire State Park First light photography in the park for those willing, and following breakfast
we'll explore the best spots in the Moapa Valley including the 'Lost City'. We'll take a short break
following lunch, then on back to Valley of Fire State Park for the last few hours of
light. Locations in the park on days one and two will include Fire Canyon Arch, Elephant Rock, and Windstone Arch,
plus several balanced rocks, petroglyphs, petrified trees . . . and perhaps the
quite rare Desert Tortoise etcetera. The included dinner on the last night of
our photography tour will feature an
'It's You!' presentation of clients in action by John.
Day 3 | Departure day Early on day three we'll venture back into the park, take breakfast, then make
sure that you're at the Las Vegas airport in good time for your afternoon flight.
If at all possible, please arrange your departing flight for 1 pm onwards.
Our Grand Canyon
extension commences the following day in Las Vegas.
