Photography Tour Overview:
To some it is just a giant hole in the ground, and to others it's a spectacular
series of eroding, colorful mesas splashed with light and shadow during the
early and late light. Whatever your impression is, our Grand Canyon photography
tour will exceed your pre-conception of this infamous canyon that is 270 miles long, and 18
miles across at the widest point. Join us for light, shadow and smatterings of
wildlife. As with all of our photography tours, early and late shooting is scheduled for each day.

Our
itinerary . . .
But first things first! We suggest that you set your camera's clock to the local time, as your images will then synchronize with the times in our included photo tour
field notes.
Day 1 |
Las Vegas to Grand Canyon's South Rim
Our group will meet in the lobby of our gateway hotel near the Las Vegas airport
at 9:30 am, and as we head for the South Rim of the Grand Canyon we'll make a stop at the Hoover Dam for a series of images.
On to our hotel for check-in, and following a short break we'll enjoy a
photography session at the rim of the Grand Canyon which will be bathed in the days' last light.
Near the Grand Canyon South Rim, 2 nights
Day 2 |
Grand Canyon
Back to the South Rim before sunrise, and light permitting, a wonderful
photography session of light, shade and canyon magnificence prior to taking
breakfast. We'll then explore the best of the canyon rim going west via the park
shuttle service, and follow that with a midday break. The mid to late afternoon
time span will see us back on the canyon rim, and venturing part-way down a pair
of trails for canyon vistas, plus Raven and Squirrel studies. Mule Deer are also likely to
make an appearance in the woods a short distance from the canyon rim late in the day.
The included dinner on the last night of our photography tour will feature an
'It's You!' presentation of clients in action on this tour by John.
Day 3 | Departure day
We'll venture back into the park at first light, take breakfast, and then head
in the direction of Las Vegas to rendezvous with your flight home.
If at all possible, please arrange your departing flight for 4 pm onwards, or
consider an overnight stay and a flight home the following day.
