Photography Tour Overview

London: This photo tour of London will consist of photo excursions to the city’s icons led by English photographer and guide John Baker. Photography highlights will include the Tower Bridge, Trafalgar Square, the 'Changing of the Guard' at Buckingham Palace, St. James Park, Westminster Abbey, a sunset 'flight' on the London Eye, Lifeguards on horseback and the three River Thames icons of Big Ben, Houses of Parliament and Westminster Bridge. Night photography also included.

Paris: Paris, the city of romance? Well, you'll fall in love with Parisienne icons such as the Arc de Triomphe, the Champs Elysées, the Eiffel Tower, the Latin Quarter, the colorful gardens with historic statues, the Seine River bridges, [Notre Dame cathedral] plus the 'off the beaten track' Paris a La Defense and more.

London and Paris notes: This trip is predominantly a walking tour of both cities as one doesn't even attempt to drive around these great cities! We do however take our time, hop onto the London Tube train and Paris Metro to cover the greater distances or to get home, and stop for tea/coffee/photography critique and instruction breaks. Average health is sufficient for this trip. As with all of our photography tours, early and late shooting is scheduled for each day.

Our itinerary . . .
But first things first! We suggest that you set your camera's clock to the local time, as your images will then synchronize with the times in our included photo tour field notes.

Days 1, 2, and 3 |  London, England
Our small group will gather at 12 noon at our Heathrow hotel, and we'll kick things off with the included lunch. After lunch we'll make our way into London to check-in to our accommodations in the very heart of London on the Thames river. After free time and dinner we'll do some sunset/twilight photography with Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament being our focal point.
Days 2, 3 and 4 will be filled with many London experiences and photogenic places as we point our lenses at such city ‘icons’ as Trafalgar Square, Buckingham Palace, St. James Park, the London ‘Tube’, Westminster Abbey, Lifeguards on horseback, Tower Bridge, the Tower of London, St. Paul’s Cathedral designed by Sir Christopher Wren, and the threesome of Big Ben, Houses of Parliament and Westminster Bridge and more. A ride on the London Eye, early and late light shooting, free time, and twilight photography is included in this itinerary.
Central London, 3 nights

Day 4  |  London to Paris
After some additional early London photography we'll take the train from London to Paris via the EuroTunnel [Chunnel] - cost included - a journey with an additional opportunity for one-on-one photography critiquing or processing sessions with John for those that would like to partake. After arrival into central Paris we'll check in to our accommodations. Then after free time we'll shoot around the Trocadéro and Eiffel Tower, followed by dinner and late light photography back at the Trocadéro. The main subject tonight will be the flood-lit Eiffel Tower.
Central Paris, 3 nights

Days 5 and 6  |  Paris, France
Our three night stay will be filled with a potpourri of Parisienne images and experiences as we photograph our way around one of Europe's most captivating cities. The long list of subjects includes the Arc de Triomphe, the Champs Elysées, the Louvre and glass Pyramid, the Eiffel Tower shot from every conceivable angle plus a tower ascent, the Trocadéro, the Latin Quarter, colorful gardens including Tuileries with its own Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel, typical sidewalk café scenes, the 'off-beat' Paris, the 'impressionist' Paris, and the Seine River with the best of its bridges including Pont Neuf, and Pont des Arts. To the north is Montmartre's Basilique du Sacre Coeur complete with vistas of 'rooftop Paris' and the photographic intimacy of Place du Tertre. Also included is the modernistic La Defense section of Paris.  You'll have some free time to relax and/or image critiquing, plus twilight photography will be included et cetera.

Day 7  |  Paris and Château de Chantilly
We'll shoot more Paris scenes in the vicinity of our hotel this morning, then after check-in to our new hotel near the airport we'll head for the magnificent Château de Chantilly. The included dinner on the last night of our photography tour will feature an 'It's You!' presentation of clients in action on this tour by John.

Day 8  |  Departure day
As there isn't any photography scheduled for the day of departure on this trip, your flight home can be arranged for any time today. Transport to the airport is included unless you’re staying on for a day or more.

Photography Tour Cost, Deposit, Cancellation Policy and Enrollment Guidance

Trip Cost: $3,745 USD per person not including airfare. A 5% discount is applied to all double occupancies. A single room supplement is required for single occupancy

Included in the Trip Cost: The following items are included in the trip cost . . .

• Travel costs between your home and the gateway airport and return

• Any transportation or travel costs incurred prior to or after the tour’s inclusive dates

• Lunches and dinners except for lunch on day one of the trip, and dinner on the last night of the trip

• Alcoholic beverages

• Entrance fees or costs related to optional sites or activities not included in the itinerary

• Baggage fees

• Medical expenses

• Personal items such as the hotel mini-bar, laundry et cetera

• Incidental charges incurred at our accommodations such as movie rentals, internet and phone
