Photography Tour Overview: Boise skyline, Silver City ghost town, Snake River, Bruneau Sand Dunes, Sawtooth Mountains, Stanley, Payette River, Cascade Lake, Payette Lake, Roseberry, McCall, Warren, Riggins, Salmon River and more.

Our itinerary . . .

But wait just a moment, first things first! We suggest that you set your camera's clock to the local time, as your images will then synchronize with the times in our included photo tour field notes.

Day 1  |  Boise, Silver City ghost town, and Bruneau Dunes State Park
We'll start our Idaho photo tour after breakfast with a Boise skyline shoot, and then go west across the Snake River and make our way to the Silver City ghost town. We'll wander about Silver City photographing rustic buildings, and colorful paraphernalia prior to heading east across the Snake River Plain. We'll go via Oreana with stops along the Snake River, plus investigate the old Oregon Trail. After dinner we'll head to Bruneau Dunes State Park for the warm, late side-lighting on the dunes.
Near Bruneau Sand Dunes, 1 night

Days 2 + 3  |  Sawtooth National Recreation Area
Back to the Bruneau sand dunes early, then following breakfast we'll depart the Snake River Plain and head for the mountains. On via Sun Valley, Galena Summit, and at least one detour for the remnants of a ghost town. We're now in the heart of the Sawtooth National Recreation Area, and during our stay near Stanley we'll explore lakes, moderately strenuous mountain trails, and compose the Sawtooth range behind a series of zig-zag fence shots. A boat trip on Redfish Lake is also included.
Stanley, 2 nights

Days 4 + 5  |  Central Idaho Mountains
After an early Sawtooth mountain range photo session we'll coast the Ponderosa Pine Scenic Highway and the Payette River Canyon. A Cascade Lake detour is planned, and then on to the resort town of McCall for two nights. During our stay we'll explore Ponderosa State Park, a 'ghost town', and Payette Lake etcetera. You'll love the Payette lake sunsets!
McCall, 2 nights

Day 6  |  To Boise
Early light shooting one last time, then on south for more images in the rugged Payette River Canyon. More Boise photography after hotel check-in. The included dinner on the last night of our photography tour will feature an 'It's You!' presentation of clients in action by John.
Boise, 1 night

Day 7  |  Departure day
As there isn't any photography scheduled for the day of departure, your flight home can be arranged for any time today. However, we reserve the right to schedule an early light excursion for those whose departing flight will accommodate some additional photography!

Enhancing Your Photography Skills: Describing the assistance you'll receive on one of our photography tours takes more than a few words, so for greater detail please go here.

Exertion level: This photography tour is classified as 'non strenuous' to 'moderately strenuous'

A majority of images are found in close proximity to our vehicle

Sand dunes, such as at Bruneau, are inherently 'heavy going', but the distance is short

We will take at least one trail to a Sawtooth vista, but at a very slow pace

In every other respect this photography tour is considered non-strenuous to mildly strenuous
