Photography Tour Overview: From Washington DC to
Boston, Massachusetts, via Baltimore, Philadelphia, New York, and Cape Cod . . . a grass roots photography trip of the American eastern
seaboard. Photography locations will include Washington DC, Baltimore,
Philadelphia, New York, and Boston, plus harbors, and lighthouses as we make our way to Cape Cod. Along the way
there will be many additional photo ops and historical perspectives in the
region where modern American history began. As with all of our photography tours, early and late shooting is scheduled for each day.

Our
itinerary . . .
But first things first! We suggest that you set your camera's clock to the local time, as your images will then synchronize with the times in our included photo tour
field notes.
Days 1 + 2 | Washington DC,
Arlington Cemetery and Mount Vernon
We'll kick off our Eastern Seaboard Icons photography tour at 9:30 am, and head out to
photograph a cluster of iconic buildings and monuments that represent over two
centuries of American history. Most of the images will be accessed on foot, but
we'll take our time, especially as our exploration of the city's icons and region will
be split over two days. Washington icons include the
National Mall, Capitol Building, Jefferson Memorial, the White House, Lincoln
Memorial, Vietnam Veterans Memorial, and the Washington Monument et cetera along with
twilight photography if you have the energy. A side trip to Arlington cemetery
and George Washington's
Mount Vernon is also on our schedule.
Washington DC, 2 nights
Day 3 | Washington DC to Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania, via Baltimore Maryland
After concluding our photography in the nation's capital we'll make our way to Baltimore's
inner harbor for the USS Constellation tall ship, and city skyline images. On to Philadelphia
and the Independence National Historical Park where the Liberty Bell is preserved.
Nearby is the iconic Independence Hall where the Declaration of Independence and
the United States Constitution were debated and adopted in the late 18th
century. Twilight photography and more.
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 1 night
Days 4, 5 + 6 | Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to
Manhattan, New York
More of
Philadelphia including the city skyline, prior to heading northwards. We'll make
a variety of stops during the day, then on to New
York for hotel check-in. Photography during our stay will include the Statue of Liberty, the Brooklyn
and Manhattan Bridges, the New York city skyline, the World Trade Center
memorial, classic Central Park vistas, the High Line elevated park walkway, plus an East
and Hudson
River boat cruise for a myriad of iconic New York images. First light photography
toward the aforementioned bridges is also on our schedule.
Manhattan Financial District, New York, NY, 3 nights
Day 7 |
Manhattan, New York, to Newport, Rhode Island
More of
New York at first light to start our day, then off
along the Connecticut coastline that borders Long Island Sound. We'll make
several stops as we progress eastwards including those at Norwalk, Fayerweather
Island, New Haven, Branford, and Point Judith prior to our hotel check-in near
Newport, Rhode Island.
Near
Newport, RI, 1 night
Day
8 |
Newport, Rhode Island, to Cape Cod, Massachusetts
Departing
Newport we'll shoot around the harbor, then on to Woods Hole for
the Nobska lighthouse. We'll pause in Hyannis for a variety of
images, plus a pair of stops in Chatham prior to continuing
north on the Cape Cod peninsula for our one night stay. Provincetown,
and several lighthouses are scheduled while in the region.
Provincetown, Cape Cod, MA, 1 night
Days
9 + 10
| Cape Cod, Massachusetts to Boston, Massachusetts
Early light on the Cape Cod peninsula prior to stops on our way
to Boston for the
Plymouth Rock,
Plimouth
Plantation, and the the
Mayflower II which is a full-size replica of the original Mayflower,
the ship which brought the British and Dutch Pilgrims to Plymouth in 1620.
During our Boston stay we'll photograph the Boston skyline, Charles
River, the Beacon Hill district, iconic Boston architecture,
plus twilight photography and
more. The included dinner on the last night of our photography
tour will feature an
'It's You!' presentation of clients in action on this tour by John.
