Photography Tour Overview: Zion is towering peaks, and Virgin River, while Bryce Canyon is between a rock and a soft place in that the multiple spire formations in the Bryce amphitheater are a result of rock that falls between sand and sandstone in composition. Join us in these colorful Utah hideaways in autumn for five days of photography along easy trails, and at selected viewpoints based upon time of day, and angle of light. This Utah photography tour also includes Red Canyon and Zion's Kolob Canyon et cetera.
As with all of our photography tours, early and late shooting is scheduled for each day.

Our
itinerary . . .
But first things first! We suggest that you set your camera's clock to the local time, as your images will then synchronize with the times in our included photo tour
field notes.
Days 1 + 2 |
St. George to Bryce Canyon
National Park We'll depart north mid-morning for Kolob Canyon, where the Finger Canyons will be side-lit and consequently will polarize beautifully as we shoot from several vantage points.
We'll take our included orientation lunch in Cedar City then head for Bryce via a lava landscape,
aspen groves, and more as we go east via Cedar Canyon. Red Canyon is on the approach to Bryce, and is very photogenic. We'll check-in to our hotel,
and be on the Bryce Canyon rim at sunset for side-lighting on the colorful pinnacles. At dawn on day 3 we'll be back on the Bryce Canyon at a new viewpoint, then following breakfast we'll venture into the canyon for slow ambles among the pinnacles for many, many absorbing
and abstract images. We'll take some free time today, then as sunset nears we'll be on the canyon rim for the late light.
You'll also have the opportunity to point your lenses at Mule Deer while at Bryce. Bryce, 2 nights
Days 3, 4 + 5 | Zion National Park and
a ghost town Sunrise one last time on the Bryce Canyon rim, then off in the direction of Zion National Park. We'll shoot in Red Canyon once more,
then on south for photography on Zion Park Boulevard including; Checkerboard Mesa;
'swirling rock' patterns; colorful maple leaves, and hopefully the Big Horn
Sheep herd. On to Springdale for hotel
check-in and a short break, then on out for the classic Virgin River and
mountain composition at sunset. On day 4, first light on peaks such as Towers of the Virgin, East and West
temples, plus Bridge Mountain and more before returning to Springdale for
breakfast. We'll then spend much of the day in the Zion canyon utilizing the shuttle service along the Floor Of The Valley Road to access the Court of the Patriarchs, the Virgin River, the Temple of Sinawava,
lower Emerald Pool, Weeping Rock, and much, much more. There are several easy walks, and others that go to 'great heights' should you wish to break off from the group for a while. On day 5 we'll head for a ghost town which was used in a major movie some
years back, and also return to upper Zion
to 'mop up' on this the last full day of the trip. The included dinner on the last night of our photography tour will feature an 'It's You!' presentation of clients in action on this tour by John. Springdale, 3 nights
Day 6 | Departure day After early light photography and breakfast, you'll be at the St. George airport in good time for your flight.
If at all possible, please arrange your departing flight for 12:30 pm onwards.

Enhancing Your Photography Skills
Describing the assistance you'll receive on one of our photography tours takes more than a few words, so for greater detail please go
here.
Exertion level: This photography tour is classified as 'non strenuous' to 'moderately strenuous'
Bryce: The rim trails are almost level, but ascending into the canyon will entail a sharp return ascent back to the canyon rim
Zion: We take specific easy trails that ascend short heights, and others that ascend steeply for those that wish to go further [strenuous]. There are also plenty of canyon floor-based images for those less athletic
In every other respect this photography tour is considered non-strenuous to mildly strenuous
