Photography Tour Overview: The Alsace region lies on the French border with Germany, and has many associations with its international neighbor including the Germanic language of Alsatian. The Alsace capital is Strasbourg, also Germanic in name, and the seat of several European institutions. Photographically, colorful half-timbered buildings are abundant in the Alsace towns and villages, and are topped by the unusual sight of Storks nesting on the Alsace skyline.
As with all of our photography tours, early and late shooting is scheduled for each day.

Our
itinerary . . .
But first things first! We suggest that you set your camera's clock to the local time, as your images will then synchronize with the times in our included photo tour
field notes.
Days 1, 2 + 3 | The Alsace We'll rendezvous at our hotel near the Strasbourg
city center at 9:30 a.m. on the morning of day 1, and take a short walk for a
series of classic Strasbourg scenes. Despite being one of Europe's political
seats, the city's old town is as photogenic as ever, and a veritable journey
back in time. Then on south pausing for our included
introductory included lunch. On days 1 through 3
we'll photograph many of the Alsace villages that are not only ancient, but also
quaint and quite colorful because the locals share a penchant for pastel! Nesting Storks rule the Alsace
rooftops, and those in our group with even minimal bird photography skills will return home with some great shots of the pink roof-dwellers. Beyond the 'big scene', the Alsace villages are crammed with signature shots provided by signs, doorways, narrow streets, and flower-clad windows.
Our base for three nights is near Colmar.
Near Colmar, 3 nights
Day 4 | Strasbourg
It's more of the same, but in a variety of new villages as we head for
Strasbourg today. The included dinner on the last night of our photography tour will feature an 'It's You!' presentation of clients in action on this tour by John.
Near Strasbourg airport, 1 night
Day 5 | Departure day
As there isn't any photography scheduled for the day of departure on this trip, your flight home can be arranged for any time today. Transport to the airport is included unless you’re staying on for a day or more.
