OVERSEAS TRAVEL
<> It is recommended, but not imperative, that you arrive a day early to be fresh and on time for the trip!
<> Early arrival also enables you to explore the gateway city should you wish.
<> A late flight arrival on day 1 of the trip might entail you having to find your own way to the first hotel, if not close to the airport.
<> Please note that the ending date of the trip is the day of your departure flight. Please arrange your flights accordingly.
Clients from Europe, Asia, Africa, South America and Australasia should depart their home country a day or two prior to Day 1, so that the commencement of this photography tour isn't missed.
DAY 1
| PAGE, ARIZONA
Your mid
afternoon flight into Page, Arizona, will be met by
myself, John, and after
hotel check-in and a 'digital orientation' we'll head
for the late light on Lake Powell, and surrounding
mountain ranges.

DAYS
2 and 3 | ANTELOPE CANYON and MONUMENT VALLEY
Back to Lake Powell at dawn, and around mid-morning
we'll take a short 4-wheel-drive into the legendary
Antelope Canyon. Once there armed with a tripod you'll
enjoy creating some classic ‘rippling rock’
compositions. Throughout our time in the colorful canyon
the light and soft shadows will caress the walls and
create ever-changing photo challenges, and in late
morning the classic shot of a vertical shaft of light
kissing the canyon floor will materialize. We then
depart Page, and it's 'Wagons East!' for a few
stop-start hours. On via Kayenta to Monument Valley for
the late light on this
most incredible of array of red rock featuring the
infamous Mittens. On
Day 3 our photography will commence at dawn back at the
Mittens view. For the remainder of the day you will be
guided around Monument Valley by a local Navajo and
myself, and record many classic
scenes taking our time get the very best from each
situation. A middle-of-nowhere barbeque lunch is also part
of the Monument Valley experience.
MONUMENT VALLEY, 2 nights
DAYS 4, 5 and 6
|
CANYONLANDS and ARCHES
At dawn we'll be at the Mittens once more as they are touched by the first
light. Then following breakfast we'll do the classic
highway/Monument Valley shot, and detour for the
'Goosenecks' of San Juan State Park. Then on via Valley
of the Gods and Newspaper Rock to
Moab for accommodation check-in followed by a late light visit to
Arches National Park if time permits. On days 5 and 6 we’ll
photo-explore the highlights of both Arches and Canyonlands National Parks. Early and late light in
Arches National Park is scheduled, and the short hike for the last
light on Delicate Arch will be most worthwhile. Dawn at
Mesa Arch is also outstanding and you'll be there too.

GRAND JUNCTION
We’ll ‘mop-up’ around Moab photographically speaking this
morning, and then depart toward Grand Junction. Taking the
scenic route we’ll follow the Colorado River past Big
Bend and Fisher Towers etcetera, and be on the lookout
for kayakers among the white-water rapids. Then via
Cisco to join Interstate 70 and from there it will be the fast
track to Colorado National Monument for shots of the
spectacular cliffs and canyons along the winding Rim
Rock Drive.
