Please note: This photo
workshop
is classified as 'mildly strenuous' to 'moderately strenuous'.
Each day we will visit various hill towns and explore them on foot.
Consequently there are steps and inclines, but as you'll be exploring
with your camera the pace will be slow, and the distances quite short. |

OVERVIEW: 'Tis
the season to be purple in terms of the
photographing lines of blooming Lavender,
plus the medieval towns of Gordes, Avignon, Roussillon, Sault, Montfuron,
Manosque, and Sisteron. Also included is Senanque Abbey,
Pont du Gard,
Arles, plus the canyons of Verdon, and
Gourdon etcetera.
LAVENDER NOTES: The dates of
this photography workshop have been specifically chosen to
coincide with the flowering Lavender, and it should be noted
that local weather conditions will dictate whether or not
this will be an average, or very good year for Lavender.
TRAVEL TO THE GATEWAY AIRPORT
o It is recommended that clients arrive a day early to be fresh for the trip, and to also counteract possible flight delays.
o Early arrival also enables you to explore the gateway city should you wish to do so.
o When booking flights, add a day for overnight travel or two days if also crossing the Pacific Ocean/International Dateline.
o The last day of the trip is the date you should arrange your flight home unless you plan to stay on. Thank you!
DAYS 1, 2, 3 and
4 | PROVENCE Following your late morning
arrival into Marseilles we'll make our way
north to Gordes by crossing the

in the quaint Provencal village of Lourmarin. On to Gordes to check into our accommodations, with
images of the late light falling on this spectacular hill town. At the start of day 2 we'll photograph the first light falling
on the tumbling hilltop village of Gordes, one of the best
scenes in all of Provence. The remainder of
day 2, plus days 3 and 4, will include the walled city of
Avignon with the St. Benezet bridge etcetera; Pont du Gard; Arles and the Roman amphitheatres; plus Les Baux-de-Provence, Bonnieux, Saignon, the classic Senanque Abbey image, ochre-tinted Roussillon,
Sault, plus colorful Lavender
fields, lesser known ancient hill towns and much more. Near
GORDES, 4 nights
DAYS
5 and 6 | PROVENCE Following early light photography we go east today via more
hill top villages such as Montfuron, then on to Manosque.
We'll continue east to the Verdon region for a change of scenery as the hills
rise before us. We'll pass through the Verdon Grand Canyon
and continue on the Castellane area for two nights. On day 6 we'll explore our new surroundings and take a
trip northwards to take in Castillon Lake. Then via Saint-Andre-les-Alpes
to Sisteron, plus much more throughout the day. CASTELLANE, 2 nights
DAY
